Blenheim Palace

Last Saturday the family went to visit Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill. It's a magnificent and huge baroque palace, set in beautiful grounds just outside of Oxford that extend over 2,000 acres with lakes, lawns, parks and gardens. It was built for John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, in the early 1700's in recognition of his leadership at the battle of Blenhiem (which is a fascinating piece of history but we won't go into it here).
